Budget Speech para. 58: "At the same time, work on 15,000 brick & mortar houses in the Northern and Eastern Provinces will commence in 2019, with an allocation of Rs.4,500Mn being already made. A further Rs.5,500Mn. will be made available for these initiatives. On-going work to address the issues of resettlement of Muslims, who were once forcibly evicted from the North will continue and resources will be channelled accordingly." Promise Revised: Budget speech states that 15,000 houses to be built, however, the Progress Report shows the target as 10,000.

Information on progress was obtained through the Progress Report provided in response to the request for information filed under the Right to Information Act No 12 of 2016. Two separate requests were filed for the proposals coming under the purview of this ministry. Only a single response was received, however, the response contained information sufficient to assess progress of both proposals. Hence, this response has been considered for the openness assessment for both proposals.
